COMPARISON

Accurate and timely earthwork surveys are critical in managing construction projects and stockpile inventories. At Precise Spatial, we utilise advanced UAV LiDAR technology to deliver precise and reliable data, even in challenging environments. Our system, which combines the DJI Matrice 350 RTK, CHCNAV AlphaAir 450 and Emesent Hovermap

ST-X, alongside Leica Geosystems' Cyclone 3DR for post-processing, enables efficient data capture and detailed analysis for earth works and stockpile assessments.

Stockpile surveys traditionally rely on manual measurements, which can be time-consuming and present significant safety risks, particularly when workers are required to enter hazardous areas. UAV LiDAR technology streamlines this process, allowing for rapid and accurate volume calculations while reducing the need for on-the-ground personnel. LiDAR captures millions of measurement points, providing a far more detailed and accurate representation of the surveyed site than traditional methods, which leads to better-informed analysis and more precise calculations.

The value of LiDAR data is fully realised through post-processing. Using Leica Geosystems' Cyclone 3DR software, we differentiate between ground points and other features like vegetation and infrastructure. This enables the creation of precise Digital Terrain Models (DTMs), essential for accurate volume and earthwork assessments, The advanced algorithms in Cyclone 3DR ensure data is ready for analysis quickly and efficiently.

Our workflow ensures data is easily accessible and shareable. With Pointerra 3D, clients can view and interact with point clouds and design line work directly in their web browser, without the need for additional software installations. Users can also add notes and images to specific areas within the data, facilitating collaboration and real-time analysis, which helps keep stakeholders informed through the project's lifecycle.

Our UAV LiDAR technology is flexible, offering both one-off surveys and ongoing monitoring to track real-time changes in stockpiles and earthworks, providing continuous insights for long-term project management. â€‹

UAV LiDAR provides precise measurements of cut and fill volumes, supporting detailed assessments of earthworks activity. This level of accuracy helps identify material movement discrepancies and better understand project progress. It also reduces the time and resources typically required for traditional survey methods.

By integrating UAV LiDAR technology with advanced post-processing, we deliver precise, reliable, and actionable data for earthwork and stockpile surveys. Our approach ensures that stakeholders have access to real-time insights, enabling informed decision-making and effective project and time management.
